Literature circle blog response 2

Section A.
1.) The Handmaids Tale is an interesting book. Although, there are some parts that stikes me in the book. For example, there is this part that offred looks into a glass window and she sees ofglen's face with the reflection between them. When I read that i was thinking to myself, what is going to happen next. Also, there is another part where she is talking about how the government denied the women to be able to have work. The way how she explained her feelings was interesting to me because she explained it good.

Section B.
2.) Do you think the government is blocking the women from education and work because they are worried that women will have more power than men?

Section C.
1.) "'us?' I say. There is an us then, there's a we. I knew it." (pg.169) Said Margaret Atwood. I think this was an interesting quote because the character knew that she wasnt alone and that there were people that are the same as her but until that situation happend.

9/4/07 blog

well today we had to do some reading and highligting things for example information and things that i was interested in. Also to do some research on the mexico project. well that is what we had for homework and to tell you the truth i dont know what am i saying. but this is my blog for the day.

3/2 Personal Reflection (pride)

Once i had a friend that he had too much pride and he thought that everybody had respect for him. He always tried to bully people and he always thought that he was the boss out of our little group when we used to kick it at lunch. Also he thought he was a gangster but he would never fight with no one. If he said something and they were about to beat him up he would say, "im going get my uncles on you and they are from southeast". So me and my friend got pissed ofand f we told him "why do you always say that, why don't you just back yourself up and protect yourself" and he was like "fine what ever i don't care". So we told him "than i guess your not our friend no more!"
This reminds me of the Iliad because Achilles had too much pride and that made him a lost of things and a lost of friends. Also Achilles had an excuse to not fight because in my opinion i think he is a coward, as the same for my friend he was a coward he had an excuse for not fighting.

Disagreement and fights

A time when i had a fight with my friend about a disagreement was when me and my friend were playing soccer and i kicked the ball and it looked like if i made a goal but my friend was arguing that it wasn't a goal. I disagreed to what he said because i knew the ball didn't went over the backpacks but he was saying that it went over the backpack. We were arguing for a long time that i said "You know what I'm going to stop fighting because we don't know who is right or not so lets just not count it as no goal" and he said "alright then but you take out then".Now we play like good friends having fun. This reminds me of Achilles and Agamemnon because they fight for something that is not worth fighting and they are disagreeing a lot while at the end nobody is going to be right because there is no 1 tho prove that someone of them is right. This happens to almost everybody and it also happens in a lot of movies.

Stanza 1 (line 76-85)

• In this stanza calchas has an idea to get his daughter back.
• What does seer mean on line 80?

Stanza 2 (line 86-98)

• Calchas is asking Achilliesghter for help to get his daughter back. He's affraid that a dangerous king would attack him.
• Why is this king going to attack him?

My Rage-cause

I was angry when i knew that Footlocker didn't had my shoe size on the shoe that i wanted. So i went to Sheik and i asked if they had the shoes that i wanted and they told me yes. But the problem was that they didn't had my shoes size so i was so angry. So now i have to go today and look for them at another mall.

2/8 discriptive writing

1.) A scene where a character was scared was when Montag burned Beatty and when he was running from the helicopters and the mechanical hound dogs.
2.) I will be Montag, and what he might had said when the police was looking for him was “I’m scared, I’m scared because I burned Beatty and now I’m going to be wanted. I’m afraid that Beatty survives; I’m going to blast him with another blast of flamethrower. I’m terrified; I’m just going to run away from the police and from the mechanical hound dogs. I might also have to move out of this city but first I’m going to get out of this place.”
3.) A scene that I would love to have on that book is that when Montag burned Beatty and he ran away, that he should had seen Mildred’s friends and burned them ‘till he saw them melt to death. All that from payback.

My Dread

I am at a close cage with a lot of peers. The teacher warns us about the hard work that he is going to give us. I get terified about that news. He tells us "You got homework for the whole weekend". The whole world just turned black when I heard that. I just grabed the thorny papers and put it in my backpack.
